Lee C. Hermreck, 100, Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe.

Lee was born Nov. 26, 1906, on the family farm in Richmond the son of Herman and Mary (Brummel) Hermreck. He grew up in rural Richmond and attended the Round Prairie and East Scipio schools.

He was a lifelong and dedicated farmer where he put his desire and passion along the Franklin-Anderson County line until retiring in 1968. Lee and Clara resided on the family farm west of Richmond until 1990 when they moved to Ottawa.

Lee also owned and operated the Ford Tractor Agency in Garnett for nearly 10 years.

On May 5, 1931, he was united in marriage to Clara Brown in Richmond. They shared nearly 70 years of marriage until Clara passed away on April 18, 2001.

Lee was a long time member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa.

He enjoyed fishing and playing checkers. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, particularly his grandchildren.

Lee is survived by four sons, Virgil Hermreck and his wife Barbara, Williamsburg, Brownie Hermreck and his wife Beverly, Garnett, Dr. Arlo Hermreck and his wife Sandra, Kansas City, Kan., and David Hermreck and his wife Mary Ann, Thief River Falls, Minn.; three daughters, Neva Lea Magrath, Williamsburg, Joe Ann Oswald and her husband Robert, Gardner, and Lynneda Sullivan of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Erma Bartholmew of Genoa, Ill.; 26 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hermreck was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Douglas Hermreck; one infant daughter, Joan Marie Hermreck; two brothers, Albert and Clarence Hermreck; and three sisters, Hilda Pickert, Barbara Hoelscher and Marie Bures
