The death of Mrs Emma Laymon, widow of James Laymon of the town of Springfield occurred Sunday night in the Herkimer Memorial Hospital, following ten days illness of pneumonia and complications. She was with relatives in Newport when she became ill. Born in Westford Sept 18, 1872, she was the daughter of Aaron and Alizina Rhines Baldwin. Her marriage to Mr Laymon occurred about fifty years ago. He died in 1937.

Surviving are four sons, Walter and Marvin Laymon, Middlefield, Albert of Amsterdam, and Floyd of Newport, three daughters, Mrs Anna Dingman, Newport, Mrs Hattie Palmer, Fairfield, and Mrs Harry Everson, Mohawk, one brother, Clarence Baldwin, Middlefield, thirty-six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held from the Ingalls Funeral Home here Thursday at 2 o'clock. the Rev Frederick W. Connell, Methodist pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Springfield Center Cemetery.
