Pete served in the Navy during WWII. He and Velma had five children. After years living and raising their children in Fort Worth, he and Velma retired to Cedar Creek Lake, at Gun Barrel City, TX. They both enjoyed retirement and traveling in their RV trailer. Velma died of cancer in 1973, at a Fort Worth hospital. They had been married 46 years. After her death, Pete was lost, she had been a wonderful wife and friend to him. He eventually moved in to his eldest son's home, where he was able to live out the rest of his life. He liked to get in his pickup and drive around to see his other kids.
My dad always had a sweet tooth, so I put a chocolate candy bar in his pocket before he was buried. Just in case he needed that little bit of chocolate on his journey to see my mom.
I AM HAPPY THAT SO MANY OF YOU HAVE TAKEN AN INTEREST IN MY FAMILY TREE AND COPYING MY PERSONAL PHOTOS FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE; BUT IF YOU REPOST MY PHOTOS (phocks) ON OTHER PUBLIC SITES, PLEASE ALWAYS REFERENCE FIND-A-GRAVE AND THE MEMORIAL NUMBER. I HAVE SEEN MY PERSONAL PHOTOS REPOSTED ON SEVERAL SITES AND OTHERS TAKING CREDIT FOR MY PHOTOS. THANK YOU. phocks
