In addition to his beloved wife, Virgil is survived by his children, Perry Morris of Urbana, Illinois and daughter, Jeanine Richardson and husband, Mike of Bluford, Illinois; grandchildren, Keisha McFarland and husband, Jason of Thompsonville, Illinois, Mikah Heltsley and husband, Jared of Oahu, Hawaii, and Julia Kuntz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, Olivia Heltsley, Mikayla McFarland, Hallie McFarland, and Ridge McFarland; and brother, Gary Morris and wife, Gaila of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy (Green) Morris; daughters, Valerie Morris and Melinda Morris; and brother, Ronald Morris.
Virgil proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. His greatest joy was serving his Lord and Savior at Summersville Baptist Church and spending time with his family. Virgil will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
* Lucy (Green) Morris was killed in a car-train accident shortly after 8 am, January 16, 1974, in Mt. Vernon. Her car was struck by a C. & E. I. freight train engine at the Main Street crossing.
