CHARLES O. COMER
GRAY—-Mr. Charles O. Comer, 71, of Gray, died Thursday, February 21, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 23, 2002 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial in Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Plentitude Church Road, Jones County. The Rev. J. R. Moreno and Rev. Lee E. Daniel will officiate.
Mr. Comer was born in Jones County and had lived here all of his life. He was the son of the late Otis E. and Mary (Young?) Comer and the widower of Christine Raulerson Comer. Mr. Comer was retired from the Macon Water and Sewer Authority, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jim Grantham of Gray; one son, Chris Comer of Gray; five grandchildren; Lisa Colby, Pam Johnson, Cynthia Grantham and Jessica Grantham, all of Gray and Andrea Poole Forsyth; eight great grand children; one brother, Linwood Comer of Jackson; two sisters Margaret Comer Smith, and Mable [G.] Nobles, both of Macon.
The family will receive friends from seven until 8 PM Friday at Simpson-Childs Funeral Home, Gray, and may be contacted at the residence of Cindy and Jim Grantham, 511 Comer Road, Gray, GA 31032.
Simpson-Childs Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
