"Chester D. Miller of Coleman, Texas died on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at his home. Chester had moved to Coleman in September 2011 from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where he had lived since 2003. He loved the mountains and climate of Colorado and had many good friends there. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from the Richardson, Texas Police Department with 20 years of service. He often said that he thoroughly enjoyed his work at the RPD and could hardly wait to go to work each day.

"Chester was born July 10, 1942 in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Chester T. and Lola Fay Miller. He attended school in Morton, Texas before joining the United States Air Force.

"He is survived by his daughter, Darla Kay Miller of Whitesboro, Texas; granddaughter, Molly Miller of Whitesboro, Texas; son, Stephen Miller of Amarillo, Texas, brother, Doug Miller and wife, Barbara, of Coleman, Texas; sister, Deborah Hobson and husband, Rodney, of College Station, Texas, sister, Denese Rohmfeld and husband Mike of Lubbock, Texas; his beloved dogs, Skipper and Patches and a host of many good friends and colleagues.

"A memorial service will be held at a later date in Coleman, Texas and in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

"The family suggests any memorials be given to the Gideons International, P. O. Box 296, Coleman, Texas 76834, Humane Society of Coleman County, P. O. Box 282, Coleman, Texas 76834 or to your local animal shelter.
