Betty was a life long resident of Bessemer, AL and grew up in the Jonesboro Community. She attended Bessemer High School and UAB. She worked as an Optic Technician for many years and helped start the original eye bank at University Hospital in Birmingham. She loved flowers and plants and especially Aldridge Gardens where she served as a celebrated volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Anderson and W.L. Anderson; her brothers, Bill Anderson and Gladen Anderson. Betty was an active member of Hunter Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Graveside service will be Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hunter Street Baptist Church, 2600 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244.
