September 25, 2007 at I.U. Medical Center in
Indianapolis following a very brief illness. She was
born October 12, 1971 in Spokane, WA. She was a
second grade teacher at Edgewood Elementary School in
Elwood since 1998. She was a 1990 graduate of Ferris
High School in Spokane, WA, and graduated with a
Bachelors degree from Eastern Washington University.
She married Troy Scea Hicks on August 27, 1994. She
was currently a member of the Ovid Community Church in
Pendleton, and formerly attended the First United
Methodist Church in Elwood. She was a member of the
Elwood Classroom Teachers Association and Delta Theta
Tau Sorority. She enjoyed scrap booking, spending
time with family, and especially being a mother.
She is survived by: Husband – Troy S. Hicks of
Pendleton; Son – Troy Jacob "T.J." Hicks at home;
Parents – Marilyn (Gillis) and Armand Ahrendt of
Spokane, WA and Truman L. Ritcheson of Seattle, WA;
Brother – Todd and wife Lara Ritcheson of Marysville,
WA; 4 Aunts – Bobbie Arnett, Joann Fletcher, Pat and
husband Jerry Thomas, and Betty Pederson; Step-Sister
– Leslie and husband Michael Barnes of Scottsdale, AZ;
Step-Brother – Dave and wife Teresa Ahrendt of
Spokane, WA; 3 Nephews – Joshua Ritcheson, Donovan
Ritcheson, and Dezman Ritcheson; In-laws – Rod and
Susan Hicks of Noblesville and Tom and Beverly Austin
of Elwood; Brother-in-law – Trent and wife Tonya Hicks
of Greenwood; Sister-in-law – Elizabeth and husband
Adrian Heim of Elwood; Special Niece – Kennedy Heim;
Special Nephews – Conner and Dylan Hicks; and numerous
cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in
death by her Maternal Grandparents – Earl & Eileen
Gillis.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM
Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Copher-Fesler-May
Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Keith Wooden
officiating. Burial will take place in Sunset
Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be
held from 2 to 8 PM Friday, September 28, 2007 at
Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Members of Delta
Theta Tau Sorority will conduct a memorial service at
7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to the T.J. Hicks College
