After returning to Denison, Maxine was a long time volunteer with the Denison Community Chest and for a time she and Joe enjoyed raising dachshund dogs. In their spare time Joe and Maxine enjoyed camping and spending time at their home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Joe died November 12, 1988 and Maxine continued to reside at her home in Denison.
Maxine's greatest enjoyment in life was caring for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Other activities that brought her joy and happiness included the neighborhood coffee and card clubs in the communities they resided, tending her flower gardens and enjoying wildlife, especially feeding the birds and squirrels.
After suffering an apparent heart attack at her home on Monday, May 31st, Maxine was transferred to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska where her death occurred Tuesday afternoon, June 1, 2004. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 77 years and 7 months.
Including her parents and husband, Maxine was also preceded in death by one son, Rick Clinton on April 12, 2000, and one granddaughter Christie Lansink.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include four children, Randy, Reggy, Jay, and Jody, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, four brothers, Jim, Bob, Charlie, and George; sisters, Carol, Verdell and Florence, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
