OBITUARY: Mr. Avery Burton Blaylock, 94, of Durant, died Feb. 9,2001, of heart failure at University Hospital in Lexington. He was a farmer and a member of New Hope Methodist Church in Winona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Daniel Blaylock.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Winona with the Revs. Daniel Blaylock and Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Winona.
Mr. Blaylock is survived by five daughters. Pearl Wells, Frances Mitchell, both of Durant; Maggie Blaylock of Williamsburg, Ky.; Bobbie Perkins of Jellico, Tenn.; Josephine Armstrong of Clarksdale; six sons, William Wayne Blaylock, J.C. Blaylock, both of Durant; Charlie Blaylock of Walls; Joe Blaylock of Durant; James Billy Blaylock of Dalton, Ga.; Avery E. Blaylock of Williamsburg, Ky.; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Donnie "Cotton" Snell, Charles Snell, David Blaylock, Tommy Sally, Bobby Ellis, and John Miles. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Snell and Bobby Wells.
