Fred Hamilton Ellis, age 73, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born March 1, 1947, in Washington, DC, to James and Betty (Anderson) Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Patricia and Mary.
Fred is a U.S. Army Veteran having served during Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Deborah, in 1984 in Gambrills, Maryland, at their home. He retired from US Foods after 45 years, and he and his family moved to Harrison five years ago. He worked at Clay Maxey driving vehicles. He had an endless passion for life that he shared with family and friends while being an entrepreneur owning several businesses including restaurants. He loved playing golf, fishing, and riding on his tractor. He enjoyed mapping out trips and traveling the country to try different restaurants, especially to New England to eat fresh seafood.
Fred is survived by his wife, Deborah Ann Ellis; three children, Stacey Marie, David Paul, and Constance Marie; and six grandchildren, Randi 21, Kylie 14, Noah 10, Tripp 9, Eli 8, and Alex 7.
The funeral is 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Gary Crawford officiating. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
