Carolyn Cartwright Davis, 92 of 1610 Edgewood Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation. She was born April 23, 1925 in Elizabeth City to the late John Quincy Cartwright and Annie Carter Cartwright and was the wife of George Kevlin Davis for seventy-one years this coming Tuesday. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Trinity Baptist Church, and the Camden Order of Eastern Star Chapter 252. She was the former office manager at The Daily Advance newspaper.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Brenda D. Wiard (Bob) of Henderson, NC and Sharon D. Earle of Cincinnati, OH; a son, Stuart Wayne Davis (Theresa) of Satellite Beach, FL; two grandchildren Jason Wiard (Lana) and Virginia Reagle (Robert); and five great grandchildren, Austin Wiard, Will Wiard, Caroline Wiard, Brady Reagle, and James Reagle. She was pre-deceased by four sisters, Lilly Cartwright, Glennie Wilson, Virginia Edinger, and Lottie Hill; three brothers Earl Cartwright, Edwin Cartwright, and Lelon Cartwright.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at Twiford Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Carter and the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating.
