It is very difficult to find and confirm birth records for the children of Aaron Wheeler (Sr) believed to be Aaron Wheeler Jr, Cyrus Hibbard Wheeler, William Wheeler, Joseph Wheeler, all with wife Dorothy Smith and Ancel Wheeler and Martin Wheeler with wife Lucinda Rose. The only actual birth record (which lists Aaron Wheeler as father and "Lucindy" (Lucinda Rose) as mother) I can find at this time is for Martin Wheeler. Aaron Wheeler was in the military in the 1780s when most of the children were born so it is also unclear where exactly they were born. Connecticut or Vermont? Neither state nor the known localities where Aaron Wheeler (Sr) lived (Middlesex, Connecticut or Winhall, Bennington, Vermont) have online records of the children. Some of the children even differ each census whether they were born in Vermont or New York. This is likely because Vermont was carved out of New York territory around the time of their births.

The piece of evidence I have to link Aaron Wheeler (Sr) to Aaron Wheeler Jr is that they are both listed on the same page (along with Aaron Wheeler Jr's supposed 1/2 brother Martin Wheeler) of the 1830 census for Volney, Oswego, New York, just a couple of lines from each other.

The pieces of evidence I have to link Aaron Wheeler (Sr) to Ansel Wheeler is that Ansel Wheeler is buried in the same cemetary along with Martin, Martin's wives (Anna and Almira) and Martin's children. Ancel Wheeler also lived with Martin according to the 1870 census.

I currently have no confirming evidence (other than other's trees) about Cyrus, William or Joseph. [Ed Note. As of 7/12/14, we now have confirming birth records for Cyrus]
