Mrs. Ivie was born May 17, 1938, to Nina (Hancock) and Doyle Moosman in Boulder, Utah. She came to Flagstaff in 1965 with her husband Dr. Morrel Williams Ivie when he started his dental practice. She began her 28 year teaching career in the Flagstaff schools at Sechrist, Kinsey and DeMiguel elementary schools. Some 600 children learned to read in her first grade classes. Teaching young readers was her passion as was math instruction. She is survived by four children and her eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Morrel, her parents and son, Tobin.
