Eliza (Apple) Snoddy was born on June 5, 1886 in Tennessee, the daughter of James Alexander "Alex" Apple (1852–1928) and Mary (Farmer) Apple (1853–1931).
She was married to Thomas Marion "Tom" Snoddy (5 Oct 1874–21 Sep 1966) on December 29, 1905 in Smith County, Tennessee.
Living at 1013 West Eastland in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, Eliza was 74 years old and married when she had repeated strokes and died on February 21, 1961 at Davidson County Hospital, where she had been for four days.
Survivors included her husband Thomas M Snoddy and daughters Mrs R M Kizer and Mrs Raymond Mundy in Nashville and Mrs Eugene Smith of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, son J T Snoddy at Old Hickory, Tennessee, sister Mrs Ben Snoddy in Chestnut Mound, Tennessee, brothers Lowe Apple of Gordonsville, Tennessee and Herschel Apple at Carthage, Tennessee, twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on February 23rd at the chapel of Pettus-Owen & Wood Funeral Home, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
