He was the patriarch of a respected South Central Kentucky, family with deep roots and many friends, in Casey & Adair Counties and elsewhere.. He was the son of the late Chester & Lois Glover Appleby. His wife of 43 years, Janice Thompson Appleby, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants.
