H. Wayne Altom, age 78, of Texarkana, Arkansas, gained his wings on Tuesday , October 27, 2020.
Mr. Altom was born April 9, 1942 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was a retired Pipefitter and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 100 for fifty-six years.
Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family. His family meant the world to him, and he found no greater joy then caring and providing for them. He also enjoyed taking drives with his dog Beau, in his old truck. In the early morning hours and in the afternoon Beau and Wayne would feed their horse Dixie. He was preceded in death by his son, William Altom.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Karen Altom of Texarkana Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and John Hays of Texarkana, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Altom of Texarkana, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Casey Edwards, Brittany Edwards, Jennifer Beel and her husband Justin, Joseph Altom and his wife Alyssa, seven great grandchildren, Adalynn Edwards, Bella Edwards, Layni Beel, Paislee Beel, Hunter Altom, Mahaley Altom, and Isaiah Hamilton, a number of friends and other relatives.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 P. M. Saturday, October 31,2020 at Independence Cemetery with Dr. David Holder officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
