Taney County Republican February 19, 1931

Chauncey Eldridge passed away at the home of her mother Mrs. J. L. Day early Sunday morning after a lingering illness. She had taught school early in the school year but when she became ill she was forced to give up her work. She was given every care possible but of no avail. Shortly before her death she was brought home from Springfield where she had been under the care of a physician.
She was born 30 November, 1908 in Bradleyville where she spent her childhood days. Six years ago she came here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Day where she has lived since graduating from the high school last year. She has taught for about three years. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Day, two brothers, Issac and Auddie Eldridge, five sisters, Betty Smith, Kissee Mills, Cinda Adams of Spokane, Washington, Pearlie Roberts, Spokane, Washington, Alice Johnson, Taneyville, and Ethel Davidson of Kissee Mills, one half-sister, Verna Day, one half-brother, Hargus Day.
Services were held at the Stone chappel. Some of the girls from the high school sang at the services. Burial was made at the family graveyard near Bradleyville.
