Obituary- Mrs. Maurice (Hilda) Moore, 66, of Elwood, a cook at the Delwood School, died Friday, November 20, 1970, in the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa. The funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation. Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 pm. Sunday in the Carson Funeral Home in Maquoketa.
Mrs. Moore was born April 4, 1904, in Nashville, Iowa, the daughter of Carl (Charles) and Elena Jensen Weede. She married Mr. Moore, February 20, 1926, in Maquoketa.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Alan (Charleen) Hoffman of Preston and Mrs. James E (Mildred) Whitt , Jr. of Dubuque; two sons, Maurice, Jr. and James, both of Ottumwa; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother Harry (Henry) of Modesto, California; and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Weirup of Maquoketa, Mrs. Ida Gruenwald of Camanche and Mrs. Ella Burmahl of Monmouth. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
