She was born on July 20, 1937 in Carroll County, IN to the late Lawrence and Rose (Redding) Davis. On July 25, 1954, Thelma married Larry W. Danford; they later divorced and he died on October 1, 1994. On May 15, 1971 in Monticello, IN, she married Richard R. "Dick" Baer; he passed away on April 2, 1986.
She had lived in the Monticello area all of her life. Thelma was a cashier and worked in the office at the old Sixby Grocery Store for many years. She delivered the Chicago Tribune for several years. Thelma loved and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of the Crossroads of Life Baptist Church. Thelma enjoyed watching her boys and grandsons race and also enjoyed going for afternoon car rides.
She is survived by three children; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and her sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Joseph Crowell.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Riverview Cemetery.
