Born in Kingston, daughter of the late David and Verna Morgan Jenkins, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, educated in Scranton public schools and a graduate of West Scranton High School. Before retirement, she was employed by Sears.
Dorothy enjoyed arts and crafts and watching "NCIS". She was a loving and devoted sister who will be deeply missed.
Surviving are a daughter, Becky Thatcher and fiance, David Hicks, both of Johnsbury, Vt., two sisters Hannah Owens, Clarks Summit; and Edna Jenkins, Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was alsp preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, David and Evan William Jenkins; and four sisters, Shirley Swartzell, Margaret Driebe, Joan Kujawski and Ethel Jenkins.
The funeral will be Friday with services at 1 p.m. in the Davies and Jones Funeral Chapel Inc., 135 S. Main Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Ginger Daubenhauser, pastor, Trinity Baptist Church. Interment, Abington HIlls Cemetery, South Abington Township. Friends may call Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m.
