Cremation will be accorded and graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24 at Galva Cemetery. Rev. Karen Martin will officiate. Prior to the graveside service a visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Memorials may be directed to the Helen Olander Memorial Fund. The funeral home will monitor capacity limits to maintain compliance with COVID regulations. The funeral home requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
She was born March 2, 1931 in Galva, the daughter of Albert and Bertha (Osen) Anderson. She married Harold “Oley” Olander in 1950 in Galva. Survivors include her three daughters; Diane Willer of Galva, Debra DeCrane of Monmouth and Paula Olander of Katy, TX, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Danny Olander, three sisters and four brothers.
Helen had worked at Bob Evans in Galva. She enjoyed golfing, doing crafts and flower gardening.
