Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Wednesday, August 14, 2012:

James Ray "Jim" Tambke, 59, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on November 19, 1952, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Marvin Theron and Frances Elizabeth (Forck) Tambke. He was united in marriage on October 10, 1971, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, to Mary Kay Heckman, who resides at the home.

Jim was co-owner of Town & Country Auto Sales that opened in 1978 and later in 1983 he started Tambke Auto Sales and continued the family body shop upon his fathers retirement which he owned and operated till 2010 due to illness.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693. Jim loved NASCAR, yard work, and most especially his children and grandchildren.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Janice (Chris) Leroux, Jefferson City, Sheila (Nick) Niekamp, Wardsville, Kelley (Ryan) Buschjost, St. Thomas; 10 grandchildren, Devon Tambke, Lindsey Jimenez, Alex Wendel, Cody Wendel, Derick Niekamp, Chelsea Niekamp, Kyle Niekamp, Madilyn Buschjost, Audrey Buschjost, Brody Buschjost; two step-grandchildren, Joshua Leroux and Tyler Leroux; one sister, Shirley June, Ashland; and a niece, Sherri Schramm, Jefferson City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 915 Country Ridge Dr., Jefferson City, MO 65109; the Wound Care Center at University Hospital, One Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO 65212; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
