Harley Eugene “Gene” Beckelhymer, age 70, of Butler, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Three Rivers Healthcare Center, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born May 18, 1950, in Clermont County, Ohio, a son of the late Granville and Gladys Hensley Beckelhymer. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church and American Legion Post 109.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by: a brother, Edward Gibson; and three sisters, Shirley Foley, Sheila Mills and Kathleen Morrow. Survivors include: his wife, Lorena Schumann Beckelhymer; three sons, Patrick Smith, David Beckelhymer and Edward Beckelhymer; two daughters, Valorie Richardson and Grace Beckelhymer; five siblings, Afton Beckelhymer, Roger Beckelhymer, James Beckelhymer, Darlene James and Trish Cochran; and six grandchildren, Tia, Guin, Harley, Taylor, Jacob and Emma.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at the Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church shelter, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home. Gene’s final resting place will be at Peach Grove Cemetery, under full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
