26 January 1900, page 5:

Mrs. Clara Kirkpatrick, wife of Millard Kirkpatrick, died at the Holcomb house in this city at 6 o'clock last evening from a complication of diseases. Clara Kirkpatrick was born in Brattleboro, Vt., in 1844 (sic), and several years later moved with her folk to Wisconsin. After remaining in that state several years she came to Montana in the early sixties and settled at Bannack. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was for several years the wife of J. C. Kepler of Anaconda, at that time living in Glendale, but was divorced after several years. She married Millard Kirkpatrick afterwards and has lived near Argenta continuously until the time of her death. She leaves two brothers, James and Robert Kirkpatrick, her step father J. M. Mann, and a half-brother, Monroe Mann, to mourn her loss. The funeral will be from the M. E. church at 1 o'clock tomorrow. The remains will be buried in the Poindexter cemetery.

~~
Clara is listed on the 1860 census for Adams County, Wisconsin; the 1870 census for Bannack, Beaverhead County, Montana Territory; and the 1880 census for Glendale, Beaverhead County. In each, her age shows she was born in 1854. Clarinda Kirkpatrick and Joseph C. Keppler were married in Beaverhead County on November 18, 1869. Clara Kepler was married to Millard F. Kirkpatrick in Beaverhead County on December 30, 1884.
