Henry Jarious/Jerous/Jairus Eyster was born the 4th of six children, all boys except for Malinda, the first born. His first occupation was listed as "works on farm", later Farmer. This is during his West Manchester years, his father being a Farmer, according to the US Census.

He married Clementine Ehrhart in 1880 and after that they lived in York, York County and both US Census and City Directories list him as a laborer.

It appears they moved regularly until settling in at 451 Codorus, York, York County, PA which we find for the first time a 1904 City Directory.

In 1900 they are on Meet Street; 1899, 311 Greene St.; 1898, 317 Allison St.; 1894 316 W. King; In 1899 they were listed in West Manchester with the baptism of their son Arthur J.

My father was one year old when his grandfather Henry J. Eyster died and he had no recollection of him, other than stories told.

I have no information that would lead me to believe he served in the Civil War.
