William Brough was born in England to James Brough and Mary Grundy. He immigrated to the United States in 1851, bringing with him a wife, Ann East. They landed in Lockport, Niagra, New York and stayed three months.

From there they moved to LaPorte, LaPorte, Indiana and had a daughter Mary E who was born May 1850. Mary died 20 Sept 1851 in LaPorte and is buried at Union Mills Cemetery.

On the 4 Nov 1855, a second daughter Mary Ann Brough was born. On the 14 Nov 1855 Ann died, most likely due to complications of childbirth. Not much is known about Ann, except that she was born in England 28 Nov 1829 and appears to have been married to a Mr. Hunsley and was widowed before she married William.

William then married Sarah Brooks, in LaPorte the 23rd Jan 1860. They moved to Bethany, Harrison, Missouri in 1865. To this union three children were born. Sarah died in 1869.

William then married Phebe Jane Price 7 Nov 1869 in Harrison County, Missouri. To this union seven children were born.
To this date (2010)I have found no further record of PJ past 1900. My assumption is that she remarried, but have no proof.
