Peggy, nickname “Pea” was born and raised with her brothers in a small farm house in Cheek, OK where she attended grade school until the 8th grade. She went on to graduate from Lone Grove High School in 1953.

Peggy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald Wood Litts on April 6, 1958. She had worked at Lincoln Trust Bank for 11 years until 1965 when Don and Peggy purchased the Ardmore Answering Service. AAS started out in the beginning with 13 rotary telephones and grew to 77, 2 switch boards, SKAT phones, pagers and grew to over 4000 customers. After 46 years of blood, sweat, tears, talking to thousands of people and great memories she made the hard decision to close and sell the business.

Pea loved her GOD and family, always had an open door, a tender ear, a cigarette in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. She loved to tell stories starting with “once upon a time”, she would always call you “sugar”, loved reading her bible and even a good murder mystery by Dominique Dunn, she loved her tomatoes, salt and Mt. Dew, loved looking through old pictures, getting dressed up just so she could wear her jewelry, she would stretch crossways across her bed to watch tv shows like murder with Lt. Joe Kenda, the jewelry channel and the Golden Girls, enjoyed talking for hours on the phone, she laughed and cried about the good ole days and she loved to watch and listen to the rain.

Peggy always said “you can go home but you can never go back”. She had so many friends and knew so many people that Peggy in one way or another impacted their lives whether they knew it or not through the little old answering service.

Peggy departed this life to go home so she could be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family on October 15, 2020 in Selmer, TN at the age of 84, just 21 days shy of her 85th birthday.

She is survived by her first born son, Terry Gene Litts and wife Dawn, sister-in-laws Clancy and Joyce Joy, brother-in-law Robert Litts and wife Carol and daughter-in-law Deborah Litts. Grandchildren Ina Raquel Deatherage and husband Chad, Rachel Joy Litts, David John Litts and wife Elizabeth and Ira Don Litts and wife Darshelle, Kyle Charles, Asa Don and Cache Taylor Litts. Nephews Bob Joy and wife Claudette, Bill Joy and wife Sandie, John Joy Jr., niece Dawn Marie Rudd and husband Joe, lifetime friend of the family Mickey Hart and wife Susan and a host of extended family and friends.
