SUFFOLK - Francis Marion Monahan Sr., 82, died Wednesday, June 28, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Monahan was a native of McKeesport, Pa., and retired in June 1972 as manager of Lakeview Clinic, formerly Lakeview Hospital, after 40 years. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Presentation Catholic Church and a member and past exalted ruler of the Suffolk Elks Lodge No. 685.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Clay Monahan; a son, F. M. Monahan Jr. of Suffolk; two sisters, Gloria M. Smith of Wakefield and Rita M. Trobaugh of Wilmington, N.C.; and a brother, Larry J. Monahan of Wakefield.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Thomas B. Nee. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
