Mary Emaline “Mollie” McAdoo was born February 14, 1881* in Arkansas to Elijah Green and Martha Patsy Woods McAdoo. Mollie was the first born child of seven children: Mollie, John Curtis, Alma Myrtle Bolinger Wages, Wiley G., Ruby Mildred Cannon, Agness Kathryn Keck, and Grace Mabel Bridwell. Mollie met the love of her life, Merrit B. Swope. They married: M.E. McAdoo (19 yrs.), Witten, Madison County, Arkansas married M.B. Swope (22 yrs.) Aurora, Madison County, Arkansas. Madison County, Arkansas, USA 1900. On August 8, 1901, a son, Virgil Merrit Swope was born in Arkansas. It was sometime afterward that Merrit B. Swope died. Mollie and family moved to the Marshall County, Indian Territory area where she met William Shelton “Shelt” Richardson. They married June 30, 1904 in Carter, Oklahoma. On July 18, 1905, their son, Richard Shelton “Dick” Richardson was born in Oakland, Indian Territory. They had 5 children: Dick, Jack Frederick, Haskell Green “Hack,” “baby girl” that was stillborn, and Manse Rice. Shelt Richardson died July 13, 1936 in Madill, Oklahoma. Mollie died June 15, 1966 in Madill, Oklahoma. Mollie was known for her skills in cooking, quilting, and other loving ways to show how she cared for her family. Mollie was buried next to Shelt in Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Oklahoma.
*Note: it reads 1877 on her grave stone, however, that was Merrit's birth year. Mollie was born in 1881.
