Amanda Spafford was born in Washington county, New York September 27, 1824 and passed away in Doniphan at the home of her son-in-law, Orville Ellsworth, July 31, 1908. The family moved from New York to Michigan and in 1843 she was married to Wm. Moore, and they made their home in Postville, Iowa until 1877 when they came to Aurora, Neb. After several years they went to California where Mr. Moore died upon their arrival. In 1896 Mrs. Moore returned to Nebraska and has since made her home with her duaghters. Their home life was brightened by six children, two of whom died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her death Alonzo Moore of California, Oscar Moore of Iowa, and Mrs. Adelia Scott of Gering, Neb., and Mrs. Lottie Elsworth of this place and one brother whose home is in East Pasadena, California. The deceased has been a conscientious church member since girlhood. Rev. J. H. Fowler of the M.E. church conducted the funeral services from the residence Saturday afternoon. Interment was made in the Doniphan cemetery. The many friends of the family extend their sympathy.
