Karis J. Suber, 91, of Fostoria, passed away at 12:45 pm Friday October 16, 2020 at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.
She was born November 2, 1928 in Carey to the late Dr. C.R. and Ruth (Perry) Conley. She married Garold E. “Jerry” Suber November 23, 1947 in Carey and he passed away January 4, 2015.
Surviving is a son, Gary R. Suber, Fostoria; daughter, Karen L. (Keith) Thomas, Fairfield; three grandchildren, Kurt (Sarah) Thomas, Kristofer (Dani) Thomas and Kimberly (Thomas) Baker; and seven great-grandchildren, Kole, Kathryn and Cameron Thomas, Keith Daniel Thomas, Claire Naomi Thomas, Palmer Elizabeth Thomas and Karis Jo Baker. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Glenn Conley; sister, Kathryn Valentine; and two infant sisters.
Karis was a 1946 graduate of Carey High School. She had worked 26 years at Fostoria High Schools Clerical Department and seven years at the former Bond Furniture, Fostoria as a bookkeeper. She had been a Girl Scout Leader at Riley School, member of the CCL and former member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Karis never met a stranger; she enjoyed talking and carrying on conversation. She also loved playing her Lowry organ.
Funeral service is 1pm Wednesday October 21, 2020 at HOENING FUNERAL HOME 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830, with Pastor William Bentley presiding. Visitation is one hour before the funeral service 12pm-1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
