Mrs. Jewell Ann "Judy" Cook, 72, of Fruitvale passed away May 27, 2014 at her home. She was born December 2, 1941 in Bryan. She spent most of her life in Wills Point before moving to Fruitvale 8 years ago where she was a charter member of Caney Creek Cowboy Church. She married Walter Cook, Sr in 1957 and retired from Firemen's Fund Insurance of Dallas in 1998 where she worked in accounting. Judy loved to work in the garden, sew and quilt. She also loved all kids, country & western dancing and was a member of L.A.C.E. at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Henry, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Walter Cook of Fruitvale; son, Walter Eugene Cook, Jr. of Grand Saline; three daughters and sons-in-law, Aletha Diane & Mike Fink of Kaufman, Doris Jean & Rick Stephens of Sanger and Leslie Kaye & Steve Stone of Fruitvale; two sisters, Peggy Weems of McKinney and Linda Alexander of Rockwall; twelve grandchildren, Mitchell Cook, Thelisa Jean Cook, Whitney Elaine Cook, Tessala Tucker, Walter Eugene Cook III, Alyssa Cook, Tiffany Hulsey, Chealsey Brown, Dustin Stephens, Stephanie Stephens, Melissa Cox and Jessica Sherman; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will handle memorial services.
