Thurman Billy Joe Ainsworth, 90, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Monday at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Saturday, March 15, 1930, in Smith County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held for family members on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs with funeral services immediately following in the chapel. Dr. Keith Gordon will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

Billy Joe will be remembered a person that enjoyed telling stories about Bay Springs. He owned a salvage yard outside of town. He was one that was always willing to lend a hand to others, sharing his faith and also a great father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joey and Evelean Ainsworth; son, Graylon Ainsworth; sisters, Examae Bykowski, Burl Wintter, and Shirley Page; brothers, R.L. Ainsworth and J.D. Ainsworth.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Welborn (Edward); grandsons, Chris McCullough (Jamie) and Eric McCullough; great-grandchildren, Gracie McCullough and Tristan McCullough.
