Nancy, her husband Lazarus and their eight children, along with Lazarus's brother Eli and family came to Illinois in 1812. They first settled in Saline County, then a short time later, they settled on Webb's Prairie, building the first house on the prairie.
Nancy was the mother of 16 children. One of their children died in infancy, one named John, a preacher, died at the age of 22 years. The 14 remaining lived to be old and raised families. Their names are Charles, Sally, Rebecca, Anna, Peggy, Cynthia, Dicy, Edward, Nancy, Solomon, Franklin, Russell, Milton, and Julia.
