John Tom “Jay” Flesher, was born on January 19, 1934, in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, to Little Tom Flesher and Mabel Gertrude (Mills) Flesher. He passed from this life in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on October 13, 2020, at the age of 86.

Jay moved to Lindsay, Oklahoma in 1967 from Hennessy, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay. He spent his working life as a tool pusher in the Ratliff City and Velma area before his retirement in 2010.

Jay loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He was a huge sports fan and especially enjoyed getting to attend his grandkids sport games.

Left to cherish his memory is his sons, Mike Flesher and wife Sharon of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Joe Flesher and wife Bridget of Madill, Oklahoma, siblings, Flora Whiteman of Elgin, Oklahoma, Carolyn Woods of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Albert Flesher of Maud, Oklahoma, and Ella Terrell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, sisters-in-law, Linda Flesher of Kilgore, Texas, and Ruth Flesher of Hennessy, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Josh Flesher and wife Sarah of Dallas, Texas, Misty Niemann and husband Michael of Knoxville, Tennessee, Cody Flesher of Madill, Oklahoma, and Matthew Flesher of Madill, Oklahoma, great granddaughters, Stella and Sadie Niemann of Knoxville, Tennessee, and a special friend, Nancy Pierson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Little Tom and Mable Flesher, his wife, Adah Flesher, and two brothers, Morrison Flesher and Cecil Flesher.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.

A funeral service to honor the life of Jay is set to begin at the Boydston-Wilbourn Funeral Home Chapel in Lindsay, Oklahoma. He will be laid to rest following the service at the Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
