Edward J. Bonifas, born on July 26, 1881, on the same farm on which he lived all his life, Mr. Bonifas was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Bonifas. His first wife, Margaret Minnich, died about twenty-two years ago. Mr. Bonifas was later married to Chirstina Laux, who survives. Mr. Bonifas was widely known in this community. He was engaged in farming his entire life. He was a memer of St. John's church in Landeck, the Landeck branch of the Catholic Knights of Ohio and the Sacred Heart League. When his death occurred, he was sixty years nine months and nine days of age. Surviving are: his widow, a son, Leo, near Landeck: two grandchildren; three brothers, Nicholas, Tiffin; Henry, Landeck; and J. F., Lima; and four sisters, Mrs. Clem Lause, South Franklin street; Sister Mary Melania, Sister of St. Francis, stationed at Miller City; Mrs. Peter Schmit, Coldwater; and Miss Regina Bonifas, Landeck. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Dominic and Vincent and Mrs. Andres Minnich.
