Nancy Lee (Brekkestran) Brandt was born on August 21, 1936 in Brainerd, Minnesota. Her parents were the late Carl and Anna (Erickson) Brekkestran. Nancy graduated from the Glenwood High School with the class of 1954. On July 15, 1959 Nancy was united in marriage with Owen Brandt at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Together they started the Title Atlas Company and made atlases for eight different states. Nancy and Owen resided in Edina for 36 years and then made their home on Ottertail Lake in 2001. Owen passed away on March 2, 2002.

Nancy loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing tennis and always had an amazing flower garden. Being active in the local garden club, Nancy became a master gardener. She was an active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church Women’s Group and enjoyed delivering Meals-on-Wheels.

On August 4, 2017 Nancy passed away at her home on Ottertail Lake surrounded by her loving family and the gentle care of Lakeland Hospice at 80 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Nancy in death were her parents; husband, Owen; sister, Edna Stark.

Nancy is survived by 2 sons: Brian Bradley Brandt and Paul Frederick Brandt; granddaughter, Brittany (Nicholas) Campana; 2 great-grandchildren: Serenity and Autumn; sister, June (Bill) Kirkland; brother, Allen (Anna) Brekkestran; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held for Nancy on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham, Minnesota with Pastor Steven Dahl officiating. Nancy was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Perham, Minnesota.
