Darla Kay Furr, age 56, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Suburban Hospice of Hancock Health. She was born in Greenfield on August 7, 1964 to Thompson and Elizabeth (Vaught) Arnold.
After Darla graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1982, she began working in housekeeping at Brandywine Nursing Home, now Golden Living Center Brandywine. She soon went to school to become an LPN and continued working for the nursing home as a nurse. She enjoyed reading and working word search puzzles.
Darla is survived by her parents, Elizabeth Arnold and Thompson Arnold; children, Ashleigh Rogers and Kaileigh Furr; one grandson; siblings, Tom Arnold, and wife Tami, Tammy Hagans, and husband James, and Michelle Burris, and husband Anson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ephraim and Blanche Arnold, Eaf Vaught, and Elizabeth Snider.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation a 1:00 p.m. beginning with a nurses honor service presented by the Hancock Health Nurses Honor Service team. Pastor Mo Wildey will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.
