Denver P. West, a resident of Pearl River, NY. for 60 years, died Monday January 5, 2009 at Plaza Regency in Park Ridge, NJ. Denver was 87.

Mr. West was born July 13, 1921 in Evant, TX to James and Ora West. Denver served in the United States Army from 1942-1946 attaining the rank of Sergeant Military Police and took part in the invasion of Normandy.

Denver formerly worked as a machinist for Chromalloy in Orangeburg, NY. He was active in unions and was Past President of IBEW Local Orangeburg Manufacturing.

Locally, Denver was a member of the Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church.

Denver is survived by his two daughters, Denise A. Ainsworth of Mahwah, NJ.; and Linda Piluso of Montgomery, NY. Four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his wife Ruth, and two daughters, Sandra Callahan and Eileen West.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday January 15, at the Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church, Pearl River, NY.
