Born Oct. 2, 1918, in Darlington Township, a daughter of the late Milton Miller and Mary Ella Stang McMinn, she was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Beaver. She was a switchboard operator for the Enon Valley Telephone Company. She was a past member of the Arwilda Rebekah Lodge, and a member of the Past Grand Club; an active and charter member of the Little Beaver Historical Society, and a member of Charlie's Angels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L. Bayes I, on Aug. 9, 2001; three brothers, Milton Davs McMinn, and twins, John William McMinn and William John McMinn; a sister, Julia Katherine McMinn, and an infant sister, Mary E. McMinn.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, James L. II and Diane Bayes, New Brighton, and Henry M. and Sharon Bayes, and William Bayes, all of Darlington Township; a daughter, Bonita I. Campbell, Alexandria, VA.; four grandchildren, Laura Leopardi and her husband Robert, Okinawa; Christopher M. Foster, Hopkinsville, KY.; Phillip A. Bayes, New Brighton, and Lisa R. Bayes, Darlington Township; a great-grandson, Gabriel A. Leopardi; a great-granddaughter, Tori Leopardi; a sister, Mildred Stump, Farmington Hills, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.
