Rick Lee Calahan, age 60, quietly passed from this life to the next on October 7, 2020 while surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 17, 1960 in St. Louis, MO and was raised in Nixon, TX.

Rick spent many years working construction, building, and renovating homes. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and was devoted to Julie, his wife of 39 years. He was an excellent leather craftsman, a talented artist, a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and passionate animal lover. Rick enjoyed joking with people and he loved everything about family gatherings. He was always so excited months in advance for the next event.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Pleas B. Hyatt, Jr. and Flossie (Regan) Hyatt; brothers, AJ Wells and Robert Hyatt; and sisters, Joan Kitts and Phyllis Walters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Elaine Calahan; daughter, Tina Duhamel Cancino and husband Robert; step-daughter, Crystal McCoy Kelly and husband Allen; grandchildren, Sophia, Sasha, Samantha, Sebastian, Jennifer, Lillian Jolee, Cherish, Alison, and James; siblings, Eddie Wells, Linda Riley, Helen Hunt, Buddy Hyatt, Joyce White, Le Ann Espinola, Jackie Hallada, and Mickey Hyatt; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and may friends. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Hyatt Family Cemetery in Nixon, Texas.
