Georgetown - George Ted Knutti, 71, died Friday September 14, 2007 at his home in Georgetown, Idaho.

He was born in Pocatello, Idaho on August 5, 1936 to George and Vera Kunz Knutti. He was the oldest of three children. He lived in Montpelier, Idaho while growing up attending school and graduating from Montpelier High School in 1955. Ted enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1955. He was an Interior Communications Electrician and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La.
In 1959 he met and married his first wife and they had 4 children, they later divorced.
For a time Ted operated a Phillips 66 station in Montpelier. In 1962 he reenlisted in the U.S. Navy and went into the submarine service. He served aboard the USS Diodon and the nuclear fleet ballistic missile submarines USS Daniel Boone, USS Tecumseh and the USS Benjamin Franklin. He finished his naval career as an instructor in the Advanced Training Dept, Naval Submarine School in Groton Conn. He retired in 1977. He later worked for Vangas in Jackson, Wyo. and Montpelier.
In 1991 he married Sandra Stoddard. This marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 2001. Ted was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He loved the outdoors, for many years he would gather firewood. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper. He loved his family and was loved by them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Shannon, and a sister Rosemary.
