William Edsel Austin 67 died Tuesday September 18, 2007. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday September 22, 2007 at the Pathfinders Christian Church/Church of God, located at the corner of W. Hancock and Earnest Byner St. The Church of God is the future home of Pathfinders Christian Church. The Rev. Jim Nipper, Rev. Carroll McDade and Rev. Scott Seagraves will officiate. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay.
Mr. Austin was a native of Asheville, NC but had made him home in Milledgeville since 1969. He was retired from Residential Construction and Teaching He was a graduate of Western Carolina University and East Tennessee State University and earned his Masters Degree in Microbiology and Physiology. He was an original trustee and founding member of Pathfinders Christian Church. He was a member of the Mossy Jaw Hunting Club and the Old Capital Gun Club. He was a loving husband and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Suelle Reece Austin, and son Chris Austin both of Milledgeville, his daughter Patsy McCaskill of Camden, SC his mother Sara Austin of Asheville, his brother Colin Austin (George Ann) of Asheville, grandchildren: Olivia Austin, Remmington Austin, Elizabeth Austin, Colt Edsel Austin, Loni McCaskill, Arminda McCaskill and Austin McCaskill, two great grandchildren William Andrew Austin and William Alexandria Austin.
