Peter, and sisters Helena and Anna came to America with their mother only. There father was killed in a war camp. His mother Kistine Sorenson-Damgaard married Hans Nelson a few short years after arrival. She brought her babies here to escape the oppression of the German occupation of southern Denmark whos ownership has been fought over for centuries.
