Services for Mr. Johnnie Earl Owens, 75, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet, Illinois. Full military services will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Joliet. Bodkin Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Owens, a retired general superintendent for the Ceco Corporation, Door Division, was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday at the Henry County Medical Center In Paris after suffering an apparent heart attack earlier on his houseboat at Paris Landing near Paris.

He was born In Hillsboro, Illinois, January 21, 1917, son of the late Johnny and Verna Sitton Owens, grew up In Hillsboro, graduating from Hillsboro High School and later received an Associate Degree from Northwestern University near Chicago.

Earning his pilot's license in 1939, he later served in the United States Air Force during World War II, serving In Australia and later New Guinea, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was later transferred to the Hines Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he recovered after a year.

He was a professional musician, playing five instruments and had played with the Tennessee Ramblers in Davenport, Iowa and later the Esquires in Joliet, II. for twenty-seven years prior to moving to Milan in 1974.

He started his tenure with the Ceco Corporation in 1947, and was transferred to Milan to its Door Division, where he retired in 1983 after thirty-seven years of service.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4780 in Milan, a member and Past Commodore of the Paris Landing Association of Yachting, was Past Commodore of the Saulk Trail Cruising Club and past member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Joliet, Illinois. He was a member of the Federation of Musicians Local 37 in Joliet. He was Cumberland Presbyterian in belief.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ronelva "Ronnie" Bohr Owens of Milan, a daughter, Mrs. Vicki Freeman of Edwardsville, II., three grandchildren, Jeffrey Freeman, Miss Michelle Freeman and Miss Dawn Freeman all of Edwardsville, II. and an uncle, Harold Sitton of Mountain View, Ar.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home, with a eulogy and prayer service being held at 8 P.m. The family will receive friends at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet, Illinois from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the St. Peter's Childrens Home in Memphis, Tennessee or the Milan Health Care Center in Milan.
