Alice Lindona, daughter of Benjamin and Margaret Dice, was born in Parke county, Indiana, April 6, 1865, departed this life July 29, 1916, aged 51 years, 3 months and 28 days. She was of a family of sixteen children of whom but two are living, Mrs. Esta French of Florida and Mrs. Martha Godden of Clinton, Ind.
She was married to William Berry May 19, 1885. Six children were born to this union, two dying in infancy. The four living are Mrs. Hattie Lantz and Mrs. May Shaul of Waveland, and Lottie and Ed who are still at home.
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, four children, five grandchildren, other relatives and may friends.
in early life she joined the Methodist church and about seven years ago transferred her membership to Goshen Baptist Church of which she was a devoted member and attended its services regularly till failing health prevented.
In May, 1904, she joined Relief Camp, No. 2318 of R. N. of A. at Judson, in which she was an active member, having served as Chancellor for several terms.
May she rest in peace and her good influence become immortal, for, "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord; yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them."
Sleep, Neighbor, rest with God on high-
To heaven's own camp attain;
Life's toil is o'er, ceased every sigh;
Farewell, we'll meet again.
Funeral services were held Sunday evening at three o'clock at the Baptist Church, with interment in the Barnes Cemetery.
