Louis D. Arford, 84, retired Chrysler Corp. employee, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at his home, 906 Cherry St He had been under a doctor's care, but death was unexpected. Arford was a graduate of Westfield, Ill., United Brethren College, worked for a short time with a law firm in Chicago and taught school several terms in Illinois before coming to New Castle in 1914. He was a member of the United Brethren Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Arford; a daughter, Mrs Charles Hill. South Bend; three sons, Albert R.R. 5, New Castle Eldon, Tampa, Fla., and Alva, Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Nina Smith, Marshall, 111., and two brothers. Jacob and Ernest, both of Odon. The body has been removed to the Davis-Couden Funeral Home, pending completion of burial arrangements.
