Mr. Edward James “Eddie” Adams, age 76, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010. He was born on November 14, 1933 in Cedartown, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Verbon T. and Estoria Day Adams.

Mr. Adams retired from Lockheed; a veteran of the United States Navy; an active leader for 23 years for the Alcoholic Anonymous program; an avid fisherman and loved playing golf. Mr. Adams was best known as “the chow-chow man”.

The funeral service for Mr. Adams will be conducted on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at two o’clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. J.D. Sosebee and Bishop David Huskins officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens in Cedartown with Rev. Clayton Cline officiating at the graveside with full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 6-9pm at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.

Flowers are being accepted, however; donations can be made to At Peace Hospice Care, 216B Newtown Road, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Carter, Bryan Weathers, Larry Huckaby, Jim Parnell, Mike York, Gary Temple, Dewey Chandler and Robert Abernathy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jan Redding, Jerry Haney, Betty Parnell, Sonny White, Starhouse Residents and the Members of the New Life Alcoholic Anonymous Group.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Edward J. Adams.
