MARCELINE STANLEY HAMMOND

Mrs. Marceline Stanley Hammond, age 79, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. At the time of her death of heart failure, she was living in Lusby, Maryland.
Mrs. Hammond was born on August 23, 1928 in Lakeland, Florida. Pensacola was her home for many years before moving to Lusby, Maryland. She was the daughter of Mr. Howard C. Stanley and Mrs. Annie Robertson Stanley and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Alexander Stanley (Lena) of Lakeland, Florida, previously of Medina, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl W. Hammond.
She is survived by their daughter, Marcia Ann Baca (Patrick) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; two sons, Carl W. Hammond Jr. (Susan) of Lusby, Maryland and Gary Richard Hammond (Jane) of Norfolk, Virginia.
Mrs. Hammond also leaves four sisters, Lorelei Stanley Brown (A. Glenn) of Lakeland, Florida, Tommie Louise Watson (Robert) of Pensacola, Patricia Ann Bennett (Floyd) of Winder, Georgia and Barbara Stanley Ivey (Charles) of Pensacola; and her brother, Howard Floyd Stanley of Dawsonville, Georgia. Left to cherish Gammy's memory are six grandchildren, Marti Baca, Brenda Sealy, Cee Cee Baca Jones, Trey Hammond, J.D. Hammond and Jenny Hammond; six loved great-grandchildren, Dylan Hoover, Chris Sealy, Sabrina Runkle, Cole Hammond, Alexis Hammond and Maya Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was a one-on-one person and loved to help others - where she saw a need, she sought to fill it. Marcie was a loving wife and mother. She was the steady glow in the window for her husband and children whom she adored. She was the strength and stability in their lives. After her children were older, she worked outside the home which included Central Intelligence Agency, Selective Service System, Internal Revenue Service, and National Security Agency. She was a retired member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also proud to be a Florida Pioneer descendant.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 in the chapel of Fisher-Pou Funeral Home, Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL 32503. The Reverend Winston Jay of Headland, Alabama, her former pastor at Richards Memorial United Methodist Church, Pensacola, will be officiating. Inurnment will follow.
Marcie will be so missed. Her family wishes to extend thanks and appreciation for all of the prayers and expressions of love in so many ways. Your comfort during this time is a source of strength and is treasured. May Marcie live on in our hearts and the lives she touched.
